Thursday December 29 - Day 223

It took him forever to send me a workout!  I thought he had forgotten, so I created one for myself.  But oh no, he finally texted me at 3:50.  *sigh*  I wish he had forgotten.

10 deadlifts (95#)
10 burpees
5 rounds fast

He hates me.  It's the only explanation.  Or it could be that I sent him a text while eating cilantro infused white rice from Qdoba and told him that.  HA!

Wednesday December 28 - Day 222

It took me two days to get this workout done.  He sent it to me Monday, but since my Josie was sick, I skipped both Monday and Tuesday, so I finally got to it today.  I should have ignored it and just asked for a new one.

10 hang clean and jerks
10 burpees
7 rounds
and then
100 v ups

I needed lots of help with the hang cleans.  I don't get it.  It does not feel natural and I'm sure I bruised my shoulders where I kept letting the barbell fall onto them.  I really need to work on the form for those.  One of the guys helping me said that I had good form.  When I went slow with it.  But it has to be fast, explosive like and I wasn't getting that.  I'll need to work on that a lot if I'm going to get anything out of the exercise.  I had the jerks down just fine, dip down a bit and push press the bar up.  Easy peasy.

I also only did 6 rounds so I could try to do the v ups before having to leave for the union meetings.  I did 60 of those.  Hopefully, I can wash my hair in the morning cause my arms feel like noodles.

Friday December 23 - Day 221

I love timed workouts.  Not workouts I have to time, but a certain set time to finish the workout.  AMRAPs are perfect for me.  I go as fast as I can and really push myself during an AMRAP.

5 shoulder press (15#)
10 squats
50 jump ropes (singles)
15 minute AMRAP

I did almost 8 full rounds.  I was 25 singles short of doing the full round.  It felt good.  Not too shabby for a pack a day smoker.  Just wait until I quit smoking finally.  I'll really kill this AMRAP.

Wednesday December 21 - Day 219

I knew it was going to be ugly.  He saw me coming back in from a break and told me he was going to give me lots of stairs.  I told him I figured as much.  He tried to play it off with "oh I wouldn't do that to you."  HA!  Yes he would....and he did!

Tuesday December 20 - Day 218

After I posted last night, he contacted me to apologize for forgetting to send me something.  I told him not worry about, I was just happy my head did not implode while I was working out.  He then told me it might "tomorrow" Ugh.  Thanks for the warning!

He then asked if I quit smoking yet.  I wish I could answer yes to that question.  I really need to set a quit date and try again.  It's really making a difference in my workouts and how I feel during and after them.

Doesn't look horrible on paper.  Burpees are not my friend and I don't appreciate them.  But I get a great workout when he throws them in there, that's for sure.

Monday December 19 - Day 217

I skipped an entire week due to a massive headache that lasted entirely too long.  It seems to be gone now, so I asked for a workout but never heard back from him.  This meant I had to make up my own workout.  Ugh

20 dumbbell presses (#15L/#10R)
30 squats
50 sit ups
3 rounds
and then:
50 calories on the bike
30 box jumps (20")

Not too bad for the first time in a week!  Felt okay with it and my did not implode.  Bonus!

Monday December 12 - Day 216

I saw him when I went downstairs to get some water while we were waiting on part of payroll that is done downtown.  We chatted a bit and I asked him to send me something.  He asked me to remind him around 1 or 2 if I had not heard back from him...so I did remind him.

Ugh! It kicked my butt very well and now I'm exhausted.  I just want to sleep but I've been told I'd be considered old and people would mock me if I did that.  Pfft.

I did 3 full rounds plus 2 burpees.  This one was difficult.

I did it in less than 20 minutes.  Which was my goal for this one.

I hate the push ups.  Horribly.  They make my shoulder dislike me a lot and rage a bit.  I got through it though and now I'm home relaxing!

Today marked one year since I started working out on a regular basis.  And I finally learned my lesson.  I did NOT mention that milestone to The Trainer!  YAY!  I am so very proud of myself for keeping my mouth shut, you have no idea!

Tuesday December 6 - Day 212

He almost forgot to send me something.  But I, once again, opened my mouth and sent him a text around 3:15 to remind him to send me something.  Ugh.  Maybe I should have just made something up myself?

I did 5 full rounds and then an additional 2 stairs and 5 calories.  I was close to hitting that 6th round completed!

Cardio heavy workouts make me so sleepy, I can hardly see straight.  I went to the grocery store anyway cause I knew that if I came home first, I would not go back out in this crappy weather.  I'm now ready for payday again.  *ahem*

Monday December 5 - Day 211

I was so looking forward to my workout.  The weather has been crappy, I've felt crappy from the antibiotics I'm on and I just wanted to forget about stress for at least 30 minutes (average time for one of my workouts).

He gave me a 30 minute AMRAP (o_O)

10 db presses (#15 on left/#10 on right)
10 push ups
10 ring rows
10 squats

I got into the 4th round and realized my shoulder was NOT feeling right.  It felt like my long thoracic nerve was tightening up, which causes pain at the top of my shoulder and then down my side.  I cringed while doing the ring rows in the 4th round and he saw me.  He asked me if my shoulder was hurting and I said, yeah it's starting too.

He sent me home to ice it.  Told me to stop what I was doing and go ice it.  So I did.  I also took some ibuprofen for it before leaving the office.

I did, however, do the 10 squats to finish out the 4th round because I'm a nut like that.

Friday December 2 - Day 210

You want to know what happens when you ask for mercy from your trainer?  You get your ass kicked.  That's what happens!

I told him I just wasn't feeling like working out, I'm on antibiotics that make me pukey and this is what he gave me:

100 calories on the bike
100 sit ups
150 Russian twists
200 lunges

F*cker. It took me 37:42 to get it done, but I did it all and I'm glad I did (in a way).  My legs will be sore tomorrow.

Thursday December 1 - Day 209

We are getting closer to my 1 year anniversary of doing Crossfit like workouts everyday of the work week.  I can guarantee you, I will NOT be mentioning that milestone to The Trainer.  No sireee.  I will not.  Please remind me of that as the days move on.  I'll hit the one year mark on one of his duty days next week and I am hoping I can keep my freaking mouth shut.

For today, I was just not in the mood.  I had no specific reason for it, I just didn't want to work out.  But you know I did.

5 deadlifts (#95)
10 burpees
25 sit ups
1 stair run
20 minute AMRAP (as many rounds as possible)

I did three full rounds and into the 4th, I completed the deadlifts and burpees plus 5 sit ups.

I didn't rush myself and I took my time, which is so NOT what Crossfit is about haha.  I just could not get into it.  Although it still kicked my butt, I'm glad I ended up changing and going down there.  I always feel better after a workout.
